We have had a successful StreetWatch walk with our Deritend StreetWatch volunteers, who dedicate 2 hours a month to patrolling their local community. This has received a lot of positive feedback from the local community who are happy to see the StreetWatch volunteers in their Hi-Viz jackets walking in the local area. We have been patrolling the local areas and issuing tickets to vehicles that are causing an obstruction to the roads and pavements. Parking on the pavement blocks pedestrians and other road users from getting past. This can limit emergency services being able to respond to a call, it can also force people with buggies, wheelchairs or more vulnerable members of our community to walk in the road. We want to keep all of our community safe. Please park with consideration.

We’re seeing an increase in vehicle crime: Ensure your vehicle is always locked and valuables are removed. Consider using a visible deterrent like a steering lock or installing a tracking device. We recommend using a faraday pouch or box to store your keys and report anything suspicious.
